Caring for your Topiary Plants & Baytrees (General)
As soon as possible your new topiary plant needs potting up into a larger container to enable the plants' root system to mature. You can choose a pot or container from our selection, and we will send the correct size container with your plant.

Clip over the entire Topiary, cutting through shoots that extend beyond the desired shape. Continue to trim regularly to maintain the shape and fill.
A neatly clipped topiary plant will continue to make an excellent feature in a container, providing its simple needs are met:
Regular watering and a little plant feed during the summer. Use Phostrogen, Miracle-gro or similar soluble feed once a week to keep foliage dark green and healthy. Watch for Red Spider Mite, Scale Insect or Aphids and spray at the first sign of attack with a suitable insecticide containing Bifenthrin.

Winter Care and maintenance...
In areas where snow is likely, net or wind twine around bushes to prevent the extra weight of snow and ice from separating or breaking branches. Regularly shake snow from any flat surfaces, before permanent damage is done. If topiary plants have been neglected for two years or more, regular clipping over time will bring them back into shape.
